This is Part Two of Chapter Two. Taught in the FBI Bible Class of Faith Baptist Church (Danville, Indiana) on August 1, 2021.    

Paul encourages the Thessalonian church. It's full of new believers, they're experiencing persecution, opposition, and they're doing well! Imagine a church where everyone is a new convert... and from that group you have to appoint leaders, deacons, etc. This is a letter worth reading. The apostle Paul gets serious about holy living, and a committed Christian life. This all comes as a prelude to introducing the Gathering of the Saints (the Rapture), which begins to be detailed here. Taught in the FBI Bible Class of Faith Baptist Church (Danville, Indiana) on August 22, 2021.

We take time out to define and discuss THE DAY OF THE LORD.
Understanding this term (and time) is critical to understanding end-time events. One particular error by Pre-Tribulationists is that they (most, not all) believe the Day of the Lord begins when the "tribulation period" begins. That is, at the beginning of Daniel's Seventieth Week.
This is an impossibility, which will be discussed in this video. The Day of the Lord begins sometime during the second half of the 7-years, bringing an end to the Great Tribulation.
Jesus said that if this did not happen, "there should no flesh be saved." He does it for the elect, God's people. Redeemed Gentiles and Jews.

Paul goes pastoral in this part. After a heavy dose of prophetic teaching, he digs down into the Christian life. Very practical. Of course, to my mind, the prophetic parts are just as practical. After tempting us with the Blessed Hope (the rapture) in the last chapter of 1 Thessalonians, Paul continues with more prophetic info. This is a pastoral letter, but full of prophetic hope. Taught in the FBI Bible Class of Faith Baptist Church (Danville, Indiana) on September 26, 2021.    

No other chapter in God's Word has so influenced my understanding of the gathering of God's people (the Rapture) as this one (2 Thessalonians Chapter 2).
