What happened in Israel between the time the Old Testament closed (with Malachi), and the New Testament began (with Matthew)? Ezra and Nehamiah were building a temple. The Jews had left the Babylonian captivity behind, but when the New Testament opens, Rome is the major power in the world, and Israel has been conquered again. And why is everyone speaking Greek?
There were no inspired Scriptures from Malachi until the Son of God, Jesus Christ, arrived. What happened in the intervening 400+ years? Study with us!
