God’s Prophetic Calendar
“Behold, I have told you before” — Jesus
Over the last few years, the FBI Bible Class has presented verse-by-verse studies in
- The Book of Revelation
- 1st and 2nd Thessalonians
- The Book of Daniel, The Prophet
All of these studies have led us to one place: A reasonably clear view of God’s purposes for our planet Earth. We see God’s provision for, and purposes toward,
- God’s Elect (Christians)
- Israel, God’s chosen nation
- The nations (Gentiles)
- The eventual reign of Jesus Christ, the Jewish Messiah, from the holy hill of Mount Zion, over the entire earth.
- And more!
In this series, The Prophetic Calendar, we will attempt to bring all these together. I’ve chosen to use a high-level, narrative approach. As much as possible, I hope to present the future much as a story might be told. Will we still make reference to the Bible passages that relate to the events we will be tracking? Of course, but not perhaps as exhaustively as we did when we exposited Revelation, Thessalonians and Daniel. Wherever, however, I see people struggling with any concepts, I’ll slow down and dig a little deeper. We don’t want to leave anyone behind.
The Lord Jesus said, “Behold, I have told you before.” (Matthew 24:25).
How unwise and foolish we would be to avoid Bible Prophecy in times like these.
Even so, Come, Lord Jesus! We look forward to that day when the angels declare, “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15)
Global government is on the way. By the time you read this, it may have already arrived. In the lead-up to the Seven Years of Daniel’s Seventieth Week, be knowledgeable about what’s coming on the world.
This is edifying for Christians, and a loving warning to those who either disbelieve, or oppose the truth of God’s Word, the Bible.
The inaugural event of Daniel’s Seventieth Week will be the confirmation of the covenant by the antichrist “with many.” Does this mean, as we have been told for years and years, that he will sign a peace treaty with Israel? Maybe, but I don’t think so. More likely, it’s something entirely different.
And how important is it to Jewish people today that they should build a third temple? Answer: Absolutely critical.

Antichrist will spend almost the entire first half of the Seven Years (Daniel’s Seventieth Week) warring against the ten kingdoms, and three in particular.
These wars are all detailed in the Word of God.
They culminate in his (apparent) triumph in the Jerusalem temple, where he will present himself as very God. But not yet! First, he has to fight his wars, and bring the world under his influence and authority.

The book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ gives us foreknowledge about the “man of sin,” the antichrist, also known as “the beast.”
In his efforts to mimic the Lord Jesus, he will effect an apparent death and resurrection. His death will be by a sword.
Revelation 13:11-14
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
The antichrist will die by a sword wound. Whether or not it is an actual death is debated. However, I offer this short piece of original fiction to illustrate what could happen.
BACKGROUND: Commander Toviah has fulfilled the prophecies in Daniel chapter 11 regarding antichrist’s wars. He is now preparing to present himself as Israel’s messiah.

BACKGROUND: Commander Toviah has fulfilled the prophecies in Daniel chapter 11 regarding antichrist’s wars. He has entered the temple to proclaim that he is God. However, as he goes up the temple steps, an assassin attacks him with a sword, delivering a mortal wound to his head.
Toviah is dead, but he has left instructions not to move his body. What’s about to happen?
Revelation 13 and other places in God’s Word make it plain that the antichrist will suffer a mortal wound by a sword. Subsequently he will appear to rise from the dead. The questions many ask are
- “Does he really die, or just look like he died?”
- “Is he really raised from the dead?”
- “Can Satan give life?”
All these are good, reasonable questions. What does the Bible say?
No matter which answer you decide on (from your study of the Scriptures), the important thing to know is this: No matter what happened, THE WORLD BELIEVES HE DIED AND WAS RAISED AGAIN. And so he continues to fulfill his role as a false Christ.

Everyone has heard the term “Abomination of Desolation,” but what does it mean? And, what is the strategy of the antichrist to deceive the whole world?
The key to understanding both questions is in the fact that he purports to be the messiah himself, supplanting the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Great Tribulation will be driven primarily by religious fervor in support of the super-human, god-like antichrist. It will be characterized by unbridled deceit and betrayal. Families will turn on themselves unto the death, with fathers betraying sons, daughters their mothers, and worse.
It will be so bad that unless it were cut off, all living people would die. That’s Satan’s purpose, of course.
When it is cut off (“after the tribulation of those days”), the Lord Jesus will send his mighty angels to the earth to rescue those who believe in, and serve Him. They are the elect.

We come to the conclusion of our series, “God’s Prophetic Calendar.” In this lesson, we look at the Day of the LORD. This “day” is extremely prominent in Old Testament prophecy, and figures heavily in New Testament end-time prophecy. That to say, it’s absolutely critical to understand.
It is widely misunderstood in my estimation. I hope this lesson clears some of that confusion up. The Day of the Lord is all about the Wrath of God.
The conclusion of that wrath involves what many term, “The Battle of Armageddon.”
